Therapeutic Approaches Grounded in Compassion, Connection, and Clinical Insight
What Is Psychotherapy — And How Can It Help You?
Psychotherapy is a collaborative and compassionate process. It helps you explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences in a safe, supportive space. With the guidance of a trained therapist, it becomes a powerful tool for healing, growth, and transformation.
As a culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapist, I offer a grounded and personalized approach. I help you understand your patterns and process past wounds. Together, we can build new pathways toward well-being. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, or trauma, therapy can give clarity. It can also offer resilience and relief. If you’re simply feeling stuck in life, therapy can help as well.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Together, we can create a space where healing feels possible, your voice is honored, and your story matters.
Take the first step toward healing and wholeness—with a therapist who truly sees you.
At Peace Unto You Psychotherapy Services, I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Every person carries a unique story, shaped by culture, experience, identity, and nervous system patterns. That’s why I use a flexible, integrative model of therapy. It combines evidence-based techniques with cultural sensitivity and somatic awareness. This approach supports deep, lasting change.
Below are some of the core therapeutic modalities I draw from in our work together.
Psychotherapy Treatments
Somatic Therapy
Healing through the wisdom of the body
Somatic therapy helps you tune into your body’s signals—where trauma, stress, and emotional pain are often stored. Together, we use breathwork, grounding, movement, and body awareness practices to restore a sense of safety and regulation. Somatic work is especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and dissociation.
Helps with: Trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, ADHD, and grief
Ideal for clients who feel “stuck in their heads” or disconnected from their bodies
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Create space for what matters—while letting go of what no longer serves you
ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy that helps you build psychological flexibility. Instead of trying to remove painful thoughts or emotions, ACT teaches you how to accept them. It helps you clarify your values. You learn to take committed action toward the life you want to live.
Helps with: Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, identity work, perfectionism, and major life transitions
Ideal for clients who want to live more meaningfully, even with life’s challenges
Narrative Therapy
Rewriting the story of who you are and how you heal
Narrative therapy sees you as the author of your own story—not just a diagnosis or a problem to fix. In this approach, we explore how your identity, family, and culture have shaped your current narrative. Your life experiences also play a role. We can gently re-author a more empowering version of your truth.
Helps with: Identity struggles, intergenerational trauma, low self-worth, cultural disconnection
Ideal for clients processing family history, immigration stories, or complex personal journeys
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Safety, choice, and empowerment at every step
Trauma-informed care means we move at your pace, with an understanding that trauma lives in the body and brain. Whether your trauma is complex, relational, or recent, our work centers around nervous system regulation. We focus on emotional safety and rebuilding trust in yourself and others.
Helps with: PTSD, childhood trauma, relational wounds, medical trauma, and burnout
Ideal for clients who need to feel safe, seen, and supported—without pressure or judgment
Person-Centered Therapy
Can help with: Self-exploration, personal growth, relationship issues, and existential concerns

Culturally Responsive and Relational Therapy
Therapy that honors your full identity
As a multicultural therapist, I deeply respect the intersection of race, culture, gender, faith, and systemic experiences in your healing. I work with immigrants, Black and racialized clients. I also support men navigating masculinity and those affected by intergenerational trauma. I help you reclaim your voice in a space that feels emotionally and culturally safe.
Helps with: Racial trauma, family conflict, cultural identity, belonging, and relational issues
Ideal for clients seeking a therapist who understands both personal and systemic complexity
