Meet Kwasi Baafi
Culturally Rooted, Trauma-Informed Therapy for Individuals, Couples, groups, and Families Across Ontario, Yukon, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories
A Holistic Approach to Healing
Hi, I’m Kwasi Baafi — a Canadian Certified Counselor (C.C.C. #11245472) and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying, #14751). I specialize in helping individuals, couples, families, and groups move through trauma and life’s most difficult transitions. I guide them with clarity, compassion, and a sense of renewed strength.
What sets my practice apart is the integration of medicine, psychology, neuroscience, and cultural sensitivity into every therapeutic meeting. My journey began with a Doctor of Medicine (MD). It expanded through advanced training in counseling psychology (MACP). I pursued further education in infant mental health (IMH). Additionally, I am engaged in ongoing doctoral work in behavioral health (DBH). This unique background allows me to support both emotional healing and your physical wellbeing. I handle the whole person rather than just symptoms.
Why Clients Choose My Practice
Clients who work with me often seek a therapist who is:
- Highly trained and well-credentialed across medicine, psychology, and trauma work.
- Culturally attuned, with a deep understanding of immigrant, multicultural, and systemic challenges.
- Holistic and integrative, bringing together mind, body, and relational health.
- Focused on transformation, not just coping.
My practice attracts clients who value premium, personalized care and who are ready to invest in meaningful, long-term change.
My Specialties:
- ADHD and Executive Functioning Support
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Trauma, PTSD, and Emotional Regulation
- Depression, Anxiety, and Life Transitions
- Grief and Loss Therapy
- Culturally Responsive Therapy for Immigrants, Men, and Families
- And More
Therapy Rooted in Culture, Somatic Awareness, and Relationship
As a multicultural therapist, I understand the impact of identity, culture, and systemic stressors on mental health. My approach is culturally sensitive, developmentally informed, and relational. I combine Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with trauma-informed, somatic techniques. I also use emotionally attuned techniques to help you reconnect with your values, body, and voice.
Supporting Men’s Mental Health
I’m especially passionate about working with men. Through group therapy, writing, and clinical work, I explore how traditional masculinity can mask emotional pain and block intimacy. I create safe, affirming spaces. In these spaces, men can reconnect with their feelings. They can process trauma and build healthy, meaningful relationships with themselves and others.
Let’s Work Together
If you’re looking for a therapist who blends science with body, mind, and soul, I’ll be honored to support you. I will meet you with warmth, curiosity, and clinical skill.
